Integrity
I am more effective when I am more selective.
I used to believe that the only way to gain the respect of my superiors was to defy them. This led to acts of self-sabotage and a string of gap years. I was both frantically busy and barely employed.
Now my Higher Power guides me toward both acceptable behavior and awareness of my needs. I am able to act with integrity – even when I say no.
One Friday, my employer was clamoring for me to work weekend hours. Instead of making excuses or demanding to be paid triple-time, I consulted my Higher Power, drew a temporal boundary, and let the work wait until Monday. I enjoyed a weekend of relaxation, self-care, exercise and socializing. On Monday, my Higher Power provided me the strength to perform the work still awaiting me. No surprise, as the work – and the weekend – were both within the flow of Good Orderly Direction.
I make choices today that are respectful of myself and others.
